Well... after a long time not writing due to my excessive business and laziness. Here we go again. As I read the Bible, one question came back to me after a while, which is: Is Jesus really a GOD. As most people know, Christian believes in GOD as Trinity, which are The Father (Jehova), The Son (Jesus), and The Holy Spirit.
This is saying that Jesus IS GOD. With this blog I would just to voice what I have read and experienced about Jesus, then it is up to the readers to decide if he is Your GOD or not. But, this is going to be a marathon, so please be patient with me.
The facts About Jesus is GOD:
The almost very beginning of Bible VS The almost very end of Bible:
Genesis 18: 1-15 Vs Revelation 19: 9-10 Vs Many of Chapters about Jesus
Recap: In Genesis, Abraham met with GOD in Trinity form and he fell down to earth and worship them (one of them is Jesus - according to scholar opinion). While in Revelation, John met with angel and worship the angel as well, but the angel forbid John for worshiping the angel and the angel said that John should only worship GOD. Now compare this event to Jesus time on earth where every time he met with a devil possessed individuals, the devil always fall down and cowers in front of Him. Only the human who did not realize who he is did not bow down because it was meant to be like that so that the Lamb of GOD may be sacrificed for human sake.
Also, many miracles happened from Jesus that he just commanded to happen, for example, the case of a sick woman (due to 12 years of hemorrhages, ouch!) who believed that if she just touch Jesus's robe, then she will be healed instantly. Now where in the world or outside world, in the past, present, and future this has ever happened? Or who in any lifetime can ever commanded a ravaging storm to stop in an instant? Or who can walk on top of water SLOOOOOOWWWLY?? Even Jesus Lizard must run like hell to be able to perform walking on the water... muahahahahahaha... Please click the link to know more about Jesus Lizard... very funny one.
This never happened to any other individual of GOD that is written in Bible. Even to the apostle, no one or nothing worshiped them nor can they command anything. Plus, when Jesus raise anyone from the dead, he never prayed, he just tell them to raise up. Kapaaoow!!
The morale: Look at what the devil did to know whether Jesus is GOD or not. And if anyone still say that Jesus is not GOD, that means he is not smarter than the devil. Unless if that person does not believe in GOD.... That is for another chapter to discuss.
GOD bless you all... in Jesus name! Which is also GOD
Greetings Cin Lung
ReplyDeleteIs Jesus GOD? NO!!
The miracles that were done by Jesus were in actuality, the ONE GOD, the Father, working through him.
[John 14.10, Acts 2.22]
Jesus indeed did pray in relation to raising the dead! Read again John 11.41-42
And ask yourself? When did the Father hear him?
The obvious answer is in prayer.
The temptations in the wilderness is one of the biggest proofs that Jesus is NOT GOD!
Because GOD cannot be tempted with evil!
[James 1.13]
Rather, the devil tempted the Son of GOD, i.e. the Son of the ONE GOD,
the Son of the Father.
[2 John 3]

Hi Adam
ReplyDeleteThanks for viewing this blog. Happy new year 2012. Sorry for long time no posting this blog. Regarding whether Jesus is GOD or not, I think it's up to each person's personal experience with GOD. I believe in GOD the FATHER, the SON, and the HOLY SPIRIT.
Why I believe this? All I can say is that Jesus called me personally and thru this experience I just knew He is GOD that He and the Father are one (I believe this is in the bible as well). Anyway, it's a long story... trust me. I am not scholar in any religion. I am not suggesting anyone to have the same believe as I am, I am merely stating that I believe in Trinity.
I have also studied from many sources regarding Trinity and did not find satisfactory answers until one day GOD HIMSELF explained it to me.
Regarding your statement that GOD cannot be tempted with evil... I think Jesus never got tempted by evil meaning He did not surrender to the temptation. As far as the bible I have been reading... I believe the act of temping is not impossible even if directed to GOD. The thing is that GOD will always win, so the one temping Him would be rather "misinformed".
Again... that is my personal opinion.
Finally, may I ask two questions (not for judging or anything):
1. Who is Jesus for you?
2. Do you believe that Jesus has saved and washed your sins as your messiah and king?
God Bless You and pardon any misspelling. Now you know that English is second language to me :)
Happy New Year, Cin Lung
ReplyDeleteChrist and GOD are indeed one
But one in what sense?
Please see John 17.11,21-23;
Jesus prayed that his followers be one even as he and the Father are one!
Therefore are his followers, GOD?
No! Rather, they are one in purpose and will.
True indeed, Jesus did not surrender to the temptation. However the very fact of being tempted by anything evil to do anything evil
(or against the will of GOD),
is impossible for Almighty GOD - GOD cannot be tempted with evil
[James 1.13]
and one cannot get any more evil than the devil himself!
The very fact Jesus endured temptation therefore shows scripturally, that Jesus cannot be GOD, because GOD cannot be tempted with evil.
In contrast, Jesus was driven into the wilderness by the spirit of GOD, in order to be tempted of the devil.
[Mark 1.12-13]
Amen! Christ overcame 40 days of temptation. He did not yield.
He was even tempted in all points [Heb 4.15] - again this is something impossible for GOD Almighty.
GOD Almighty, therefore, cannot be tempted by the devil, according to Scripture!
So Jesus is not GOD Almighty!
Who is Jesus for me? He is who he claimed to be?
He never ever claimed to be GOD;
rather he is the Son of GOD, the Messiah;
[John 10,36, Matt 16.15-16]
In contrast, Jesus identified his Father
as the only true GOD & the only GOD
[John 17.3, 5.44]
Jesus is the Son of the Father.
[2 John 3]
And Yes, Amen - to question 2.

I believe it will answer many of your questions concerning who God is and who Jesus is.

The Human Jesus
Hi Adam
ReplyDeleteI think the most important thing is that we both believe that Jesus is our Savior and King.
Regarding God being tempted in James 1:13, when reading that, all I see is that James tries to tell us that do not blame God for any temptation since HE never temp anyone. As for the "For God cannot be tempted by evil" part, I viewed it as he never yielded to the temptation.
About John verses, he also mentioned in John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (Co-pas from biblegateway.com).
I also believe that some passages in the scripture should not be taken one verse only and try to make assumption out of it. They should be read as a whole story.
Then, I re-read the John 5:44 and try to capture the whole passage:
Johh 5:41-44 "
41 “I do not accept glory from human beings, 42 but I know you. I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts. 43 I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him. 44 How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God[d]?
" (Copy Paste from biblegateway.com)
For me, this is about Jesus, including as the part about telling human to seek the only God, which is in front of them, Jesus.
Also, Please consider this:
Matthew 8:2 (NKJV - biblegateway.com)
2 And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.
NIV From the same chapter:
2 A man with leprosy[a] came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”
VS:
Rev 22:8-9 (NKJV)
8 Now I, John, saw and heard[a] these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things.
9 Then he said to me, “See that you do not do that. For[b] I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.” 10 And he said to me, “Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand.
NIV:
8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. 9 But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll. Worship God!”
My main point is, we should ask Jesus or The Father, which ever each of us prefer, when the time come. Instead of arguing who is Jesus among believers.
This is my guidance that strengthen my relationship with Jesus:
John 14:6 (Co-Pas from biblegateway.com):
6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
The weird thing is, I knew this passage waaaay "after" I met Jesus. Yes, I met Him when I was but a 5th grade student. From the moment I met Him, I know he is God. The feeling when I met Him was indescribeably GREAT! The feeling of True Love that each and every moment keeps adding until now.
When I read the passage above, few years after I was born new and started reading the bible, I feel that the passage above just fits perfectly in my heart. Seems like a confirmation to what I had experienced, like finding the perfect words when you tried to say something and was out of word and someone fill the word for you.
I hope you understand what I mean :)
God Bless You
